A Company Who Cares - Vi-Jon has always prided itself on its community involvement. Not just locally, but around the world...
- During the 2002 holiday season, donations of dry goods, canned foods, personal hygiene products, clothes, toys, and gift baskets were donated by Vi-Jon employees. On December 13th these items were distributed to places such as: the Vinita Park Food Pantry, New Hope Food Pantry, and the St. Charles County Department of Corrections (who later distributed them to Outreach Programs).
-
Vinita Park's Chief of Police and his entire staff (pictured right) enjoyed lunch at the Page Facility BBQ held in June 2003. These quarterly barbecues are held for every shift at all three facilities and has become a tradition for Vi-Jon, giving something back to its employees for a job well done.
- During the 2003 holiday season Vi-Jon decided to make the Evangelical Children’s Home on St. Charles Rock Road in St. Louis its project for Christmas. Fifty children gave us a list of three items that they would like to see under the tree on Christmas morning. Vi-Jon employees pulled together and made every wish for each child come true. On December 13, 2004 one hundred fifty gifts were given to the Children's Home.
- Florida’s first hurricane of the season, Hurricane Charley, made landfall on August 25, 2004. The hardest hit area in this, the first of five major hurricanes, was Punta Gorda, FL. On August 31, 2004, less than a week later, thirty cases of Germ-X were shipped to the Charlotte County Public Schools on behalf of Wal-Mart and Vi-Jon Laboratories.
In November 2004 some of our smaller 2 – 4 oz. bottles of product were sent to a group of ladies in Richmond, TX who in turn shipped them in care packages overseas to their sons. The young men who received the package in Iraq sent us this picture.
- During the 2004 holiday season taking care of the United States Military became our project, hands down. Over a five-week period, Vi-Jon associates brought in items, and cash donations were received totaling $1,336.00 to purchase items needed for the troops. Together the Christmas Committee packed a total of 83 boxes that were sent out to 42 separate units supporting a total of 776 soldiers.
