Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action

When a career opportunity presents itself, applicants and associates are evaluated on the basis of job qualifications – not race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability or age. This commitment to equal opportunity governs decisions related to selection, employment, promotion, transfer, recruitment, advertising, termination, rate of pay or other forms of compensation, benefits, and selection for training.

At-will Employment

Vi-Jon is an at-will employer.  Either the associate or the company may terminate the relationship at any time, for any reason, with the understanding that neither party has an obligation to base that decision on anything but the intent not to continue the employment relationship.

Harassment

Our associates have the right to work in an environment free from all forms of harassment, including sexual harassment.  Consistent with our respect for the rights and dignity of each associate, harassment based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, citizenship, or any other characteristics protected by law, will not be tolerated.  Vi-Jon is committed to providing a workplace free from intimidation, threats, and violent acts.

A Drug Free Workplace

Drug and alcohol intoxication has a direct, negative effect on an associate’s ability to carry out job responsibilities. The inability to perform your job represents a potential danger to the associate and their co-workers. Consequently, the need for a “drug free workplace” is a necessity for the safety of our associates, the public, and the security of the company. We are committed to providing a workplace that is free of alcohol and drug abuse.

Compensation

Vi-Jon recognizes that providing competitive pay for all positions is essential to attracting and retaining the most talented people. Job responsibilities provide the guidelines for determining how the position is rated and the appropriate wage range.

Attendance

Every associate is important to the success of the company and consequently they are needed on the job every scheduled workday. There will be occasions when attendance is either impossible or inadvisable. However, the number of such absences must be kept to a minimum. Our attendance policy is a zero-tolerant, no-fault guideline and provides an equitable method of dealing with incidents of absence.
